NO SPOILERSEleven-year-old Princess Celie lives in Castle Glower, a magical structure that grows new rooms on its own, usually on Tuesdays, and seems to have a mind and a will of its own. Celie loves the Castle more than anyone and has been secretly mapping every corridor, chamber, and hidden passage in a handmade atlas. When her parents and older brother leave for a wizardry graduation ceremony, they are ambushed on the road and never return. With the kingdom unsure whether the king and queen are dead, foreign princes arrive with large armed retinues and Celie's brother Rolf finds himself pressured into a coronation and a regency that could strip him of any real power. Celie suspects the Castle is trying to show her something, and what she discovers will force her to use every bit of her knowledge of the Castle's secrets to protect her family and hold their home.
