When three classmates show up during autumn break to expose one of her fibs, Aru does the one thing she has always been warned against: she lights the Diya of Bharata, a cursed clay lamp kept in the Hall of the Gods. The flame releases a shadow demon called the Sleeper, and every person in the museum freezes instantly, leaving Aru alone and free. A talking pigeon named Boo emerges from the museum's stone elephant and delivers a shock: Aru carries the soul of a Pandava warrior from the ancient Hindu epic the Mahabharata, and she now has nine days to stop the Sleeper from reaching the Lord of Destruction before Time itself ends forever.
