ABOUT THE BOOK
NO SPOILERSSpacewalking with You is a manga about two second-year boys at an all-boys high school. Yamato Kobayashi looks like a delinquent, sleeps through class, and can't seem to hold down a part-time job; at his latest one, a used-goods shop called SECOND HOUSE, he keeps making mistakes while his coworkers grumble behind his back. One day a transfer student named Keisuke Uno takes the seat in front of him. Uno is loud and always smiling, loves planets, and carries a battered pocket notebook full of step-by-step rules for everything from riding the bus to what to do after waking up. He calls the notebook his "safety tether," after the cable that keeps an astronaut from getting separated from the shuttle. Once Kobayashi learns why the notebook matters so much to Uno, he decides to try taking notes at his own job. Later the two boys go looking for a club Uno can join, and they end up in a tiny astronomy club with a gloomy president, even though Kobayashi knows almost nothing about space.
