NO SPOILERSRusty is a young house cat who has always dreamed of hunting in the forest beyond his garden fence. When he finally ventures out one night, he is discovered by Bluestar, the leader of ThunderClan, one of four wild cat clans living in the surrounding woods. Impressed by his courage and natural hunting instincts, Bluestar invites him to join the Clan as an apprentice. Rusty gives up his collar, his food dish, and his comfortable life with his owners to become Firepaw, a ThunderClan warrior-in-training who must earn the respect of cats who have never trusted a house cat and who are bracing for a dangerous conflict with their neighbors.
