Frank Brazier picked him out as a pup, and Bobbie grows into a tough, loyal farm dog who always finds his way back to his people no matter what. In the summer of 1923, the whole family takes a long road trip to Wolcott, Indiana, and Bobbie rides along on top of the luggage. At a gas station stop, he slips away to chase some dogs around a corner, and when Frank calls for him, Bobbie never comes back.
